75 Years

Saturday, we went to Limestone, AR in Newton County, to celebrate with Steven's great grandparents.  Celebrate their 75th Wedding Anniversary!!!!  The day was filled with food and family and fun!  Grandma and Grandpa Braden are some of the most honest, real and just plain ol' good folk!  It was a most inspiring and wonderful day!!

Here are some interesting facts of history shared by Steven's cousin, Mandy:
they were married on August 23, 1936: FDR was US President, WW2 had not yet begun, the Berlin Olympics had just ended and the Spanish Civil War has just begun. Oh, and Gone with the Wind had just been published!

A priceless photo!

Nancy, their daughter, got them a wedding cake.  When they were married 75 years ago they didn't have one.  I believe the diamond is the gift for 75 yrs so she had them make it with lite blue wording and spray it with the shiny sparkling stuff as though it were sparkling like a diamond!  And it was as yummy as it was pretty!

The Bradens with their twin boys, Bill and Bob and their daughter Nancy (Steven's grandmother - Steve's mom).  They also had another son, Larry, but he died when he was young.  I didn't notice it until Steven's cousin pointed it out, but in the top corner of the picture, I captured the picture of Larry hanging on the wall.  A complete family portrait.
